Lake Okoboji 2017

Lake Okoboji 2017 is in the books and it was another great week! The kids love it there -- they swam and fished and wandered around Arnolds Park and Main Street at their own pace. Throughout the week it struck me that we might be in a week of "lasts", but I wouldn't give up that family time for anything in the world.
On our way!
We stopped overnight in Nebraska...mainly so these two could go to Pioneer Village

We got to Okoboji the next day and went directly
to Arnold's Park with Grandma, Grandpa, Will and Claira

Grandma and Granndpa with their oldest grandkid
These five picked up right where they off a year ago!
There's something really special about cousins
On the pontoon...
mm, motorboatin'

Pit stop at the Barefoot Bar

Vivian and Claira spent a day at Arnolds Park while the boys fished

Before....
...and after...
Claira was NOT a fan!
Viv was all in though
Boys and Grandpa at the Fishery
(I have no idea what that really means)
Grandpa with three out his six grandsons
Something was clearly Will's fault!

Fishing into the night
Taking a day to just hang out at Fillenwarth's

I love the nose plug!
Last day and back on a boat

Will, Maxwell & Henry

Henry, Vivian and Will

Will, Claira, Vivian and Henry...
this combo didn't last too long...Claira wasn't a big fan!
Grandma and the girls

Just Grandma and Vivian
Maxwell and Will...
these two wanted to go fast

Just Moose

And then we slowed things down and just played...

Last night of fishing

Until next time, Okoboji...

Weekly Hanson Travels

It's a good week to be a Hanson kid...
Vivian left on her first solo flight to visit her best friends in Virginia
It was her turn to surprise AB!
Henry and the VanZyl's arrived in Puerto Vallarta
A private pool on their balcony...Henry and Morne might not ever leave
Maxwell started his first job...at Goodwill!
*not to worry, he's traveling this week too. Headed to Chicago on Thursday*

Mile High Garden

We've been out at the lake for a week and Matt only had one concern the whole time we were gone. Would he and Viv's garden survive?! This garden is his pride and joy at he moment and for a man who works his tail off day in and day out, it's pretty cool to see him so happy about something (seemingly) so small.

The good news is the garden not only survived but it's growing like crazy!
Squash, tomatoes, pumpkins, & cucumbers

Vivian's favorite finds are the ladybugs!
