Golden Anniversary

On July 29, 2017 my parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Wow. 50 years of marriage!

And 50 years later...

I know that every single day of their marriage hasn't been perfect; no marriage is perfect. But I also know that to have loved someone through good and bad for 50 years, and to still be walking side by side, is something very sacred. They made both a spoken and unspoken commitment to each other all those years ago and have never waivered. They didn't walk away; they didn't turn their backs even though there might have been dark days. I imagine that the highs of love and life overshadowed any darkness and carried them through today. 

Cheers to you both, Mom and Dad. You have paved a beautiful path for the rest of us to walk along, and I hope to make you as proud of us as we are of you.  

Happy 50th anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

She did it! Vivian has been growing her hair out for a year now and today was the big day...she had 9 inches cut off and donated to Children With Hair Loss. Please click on the link if you don't know about this amazing organization! Vivian walked in with the biggest smile on her face and walked out with the same smile and on cloud nine! I am so proud of her!

And a huge shout out to Darien at Pop Cult Hair Design for the cut and style. I wouldn't have trusted my girl and her hair to anyone else!

Vivian didn't want to see any of the final cut and style until it 

was complete so Darien faced her away from the mirror the whole time. 

This was when he turned her around -- her expression is just priceless!
