Jefferson Academy - 13
Today was Bishop Machebeuf's last regular season game and I wish I had the words to explain the excitment! It was an amazing comeback win. Machebeuf looked terrible from the start and by halftime we were down 8-3. In the next quarter and half we slowly closed the gap but never got closer than 2 goals. With 2 minutes left in the game it was 13-10. With 36 seconds left Machebeuf tied it up at 13-13 and with 14 seconds left we took the lead for the first time in the entire game. Bishop Machebeuf for the WIN!!
This was the first season in Bishop Machebeuf lacrosse history that they had a winning season. 7-6 on the year. Amazing. Today was the last time the team would play on the old Machebeuf field -- in the next couple of weeks it'll be torn up and replaced with a brand new field. After the game today and after the on-field celebration the coaches talked to the team and one of them said it beautifully. He said, "this is the last game we'll play on this old field. Now we give it up to God". What a blessing.
Let's go Buffs!!
